Pick 2, Pick 3 and Pick 4
You can play Pick games every day in Western Canada for the chance to win great prizes. There's Pick 2, Pick 3 and Pick 4, and the aim of the game in each one is to match the winning numbers from 0 to 9.
To take part, you must purchase your ticket by the cut-off time of 9:30pm Central Time (8:30pm Mountain Time/7:30pm Pacific Time). You can enter just the next draw or multiple draws in advance - the options are 2, 5, 10 or 25 consecutive draws. It's also possible to take part in Extra alongside Pick games, for an additional cost of $1 per game.

Pick 2
Pick 2 is the simplest of the three games. All you need to do is select two numbers from 0 to 9 or request a Quick Pick. It costs $2 per play and there are two ways to win. You get a $99 payout if you match both digits in the correct order, or a $2 return if you get just the first digit right.
Category | Odds of Winning | Prize |
---|---|---|
Both digits | 1 in 100 | $99 |
First digit | 1 in 11.11 | $2 |
Pick 3
In Pick 3, you have greater control over how you want to play. There's still the option to choose your own three numbers or get a Quick Pick, but you can also decide on your wager amount and your play type. You can wager $1, $2, $5 or $10 - the larger your stake, the more you can win.
The available play types are Straight, Box or Straight/Box. Here's what each play type means:
- Straight - This is a bet on your three numbers appearing in the exact order specified.
- Box - In a Box bet, you win if the three numbers you select appear in any order.
- Straight/Box - Half of the wager is a Box and the other half is a Straight. You win both parts of the wager if your numbers appear in the exact order, or just the Box portion if they appear in any order.
For Box and Straight/Box wagers, the prize you can win also depends on whether you play a 3-Way or a 6-Way combination of numbers. A 3-Way wager is one where two of the three digits are the same (for example 112), because there are only 'three ways' those numbers could be combined (112, 121 or 211). A 6-Way wager is one where all three digits are different (for example 456), because there are 'six ways' those numbers could be combined (456, 465, 546, 564, 645, 654).
The following table shows all the different play types, the odds of winning and corresponding prize amount.

Pick 4
To play Pick 4, select four digits from 0 to 9 or let the computer generate a set for you with a Quick Pick. There’s a fixed wager price of $1 per play, and two different play types.
You can play a Straight if you want to try and predict the four winning numbers in the exact order they will appear. The prize is $5,000, but there’s less chance of winning than if you play a Box wager.
If you go with a Box wager, your numbers can appear in any order. The potential prize you can win depends on the combination of numbers you select:
- 4-Way – Three of your numbers are the same and the other is different (for example 1112). There are ‘four ways’ these numbers could be combined – 1112, 1121, 1211, 2111
- 6-Way – Two sets of identical numbers (for example 4488). There are ‘six ways’ these numbers could appear – 4488, 4848, 4884, 8448, 8484, 8844
- 12-Way – Two of your numbers are the same and the other two are unique (for example 3369). These numbers can appear in ’12 ways’ – 3369, 3396, 3639, 3693, 3936, 3963, 6339, 6393, 6933, 9336, 9363, 9633
- 24-Way – All four of your numbers are different (for example 5678). There are ‘24 ways’ these numbers could be combined – 5678, 5687, 5768, 5786, 5867, 5876, 6578, 6587, 6758, 6785, 6857, 6875, 7568, 7586, 7658, 7685, 7856, 7865, 8567, 8576, 8657. 8675, 8756, 8765
